It might be a case of caught cheating spouse posthumous for Princess Diana’s infidelity drives if the novel written by 83 year old ex French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing is not to be taken as a mere flight of fiction describing romance between fictional President, Jacques-Henri Lambertye, and ‘Princess Patricia of Cardiff’ meeting at a G7 conference in London.
She was 36. He was 71.
Both the fictional characters show an amazing level of similarity between them and the real persons.
The Princess whose marriage is in ruins has been shown falling for the charms of the President. Even her husband has been shown having an extramarital affair without divorcing his wife, which highly resembles Prince Charles story almost verbatim.
In fact the French President Giscard had really met Diana more than once before as well as after her divorce with Prince Charles. He is also said to have affairs with actresses Mireille Darc and Marthe Keller. Even Brigitte Bardot ‘remembers’ him as a womanizer who has been happily married for the past 57 years fathering 4 children from her wife.
Anyway, the book is going to be released in October, 2009 and we should be ready for a politico-romantic bomb blast!
